What I really miss:

These are three years old:

I need to make some new ones, if I remember how.

I think I'm going to start playing again soon.  I really miss it.  My last Oboe teacher told me that when he attended University of Chicago, he really missed playing it and that's why he transferred to Wisconsin his senior year so he can make a career out of it.  I haven't been playing for two years and I think it's time to start again.  I haven't been keeping in touch with my teacher either, and that's his Oboe.  I used to sound really fucking good on that Oboe, I'm going to get back to it.

(I apologize for the bad quality of the pictures, I just wanted some illustrations for my entry.)

i have a bad memory about those kinds of things, though.

Yes, Symphonic. I think senior in band was fun because I truly stopped caring. We were in percussion together our freshmen year too, remember?

ha! yes, i do!

god, i can't believe i had to take THAT class. i'd been playing for YEARS already. oh well. i remember chad wells walking around like he was the shit or something. i could have cared less.

and yes, senior year. the year i stopped caring ALL the way. i used to lay on the floor behind the marimba while mr. emmert worked with all the other sections.

and, of course, i cared a little because i was the section leader. i always had to dig the rest of the guys out of the drum room, where they were all listening to cd-players and reading magazines.

I could go on forever about that class, it was a joke for us. I remember Val, Rachel, and I skipped a few times to go and eat at Cazuela's and we were always paranoid that Mr. Emmert or Mr. Marshall decide to go there for lunch and see us or something.

Also, without trying, I got to be the section leader for 1st semester until Witte decided to join Symphonic.

I miss band...not! Maybe just the part when I don't have to play.
